How It Works for Students

How much does it cost?
Some courses are free and some cost. The price is determined by the teacher.

Do I need a membership or can I just be a "Guest"?

Some courses allow Guests to enter the course.  Guests can view the course content but cannot participate in any activities such as discussion forums.  Only logged in members enrolled in a class may fully participate.  Membership is free.

How do I become a member?

Just click on the Login link in the upper right of the site then click the Create New Account button. Fill in the form. Membership is free.  But your membership must be for the purposes of either learning or teaching sound and vibration.  For example, spammers and those trying to sell products or services unrelated to sound and vibration are prohibited from joining.

Do you have a Real Name policy?

Yes.  Just like Facebook, we believe this promotes more civil conduct.  This does not mean you must use your legal name and not a nickname.  Please use the name that is or would be on your business card.  If your legal name is Robert Smith, you may go by "Bob Smith" but not "Smart VibeGuy".

How do I enroll in a course?
Login with your membership credentials (see above) then go to the desired course.  The free courses will allow you to self-enroll and you are ready to go.  For the courses that require payment, you can either self-enroll by paying through PayPal or we can manually send you an invoice.  If you prefer the manual process, just email us the course titles, usernames of the students, and the desired start date.

Do I need a PayPal account to pay through PayPal?

No.  Although PayPal processes the payment, you can either pay with your PayPal account or with a credit card.  The credit card payment process is the same as those on other online stores.

Will we spam you?

Absolutely not!  We hate spam just as much as you do.  We may send you messages periodically regarding your courses but we do not give, rent, or in any way reveal your email to anyone outside of LearnSV.com.

Can I earn Continuing Education Units (CEU)?
Yes, but it depends on the course. Some allow you to earn CEU and some don't.
